Sesame-Ginger Salad

Sesame-Ginger salad is bright and colorful with lots of textures and flavors. Featuring a dressing with strong vibrant flavors, this makes a nice first course to the main meal.

Yield: Serves 2
Time: 30 minutes


6-Cherry tomatoes
1-Yellow bell pepper
1-small red cabbage
6-green onions
1/4 cup walnuts
1 tbs. sesame seeds

4 tbs vegetable oil
1 tbs. sesame oil
2 tbs. rice wine vinegar
1 tbs. fresh lime juice
1 tbs. light soy sauce
1 tbs. honey
1 clove garlic minced
1 tsp. fresh ginger grated



Cut the tomatoes in half. Slice the bell pepper in thin 2 inch strips Remove the stem from the mushrooms and slice from top to bottom Shred 1/4 of the cabbage and reserve the rest for another use Cut the green onions in diagonal 1 inch pieces Remove the skin and pit from the avocado and slice Cut and crumble the walnuts into small pieces Arrange all of the vegetables in their own piles on two plates except the walnuts and sesame seeds. Sprinkle these two items over the top of the other vegetables.

Place all ingredients in a small mixing bowl and whisk until blended. Divide the dressing between the two plates.
Serve with bread and a glass of dry white wine.
